Is It Always Best to Do It Yourself?

I grew up in an environment where DIY was a way of life. I was mostly unaware of paying other people to do simple things around the house or minor car repair. I literally helped my dad build the house I grew up in. I taught myself how to work on my own vehicles.
However, over the years, I’m getting better about figuring out when I should and shouldn’t do it myself.


How to Decide if You Should Do it Yourself


1. Do you have the time?
2. Do you have the money to pay someone else?
3. Do you have the required skills?
4. What’s the best and worst outcome?
5. What can/will happen if you mess it up?
6. Can you trade labor with a friend or neighbor?
7. What’s the cost of just replacing?
